The ENGINEER PAD-12 is a precision crimping tool fitted with medium-size crimping die plates - these die plates can be easily swapped for other sizes allowing an easy upgrade path.
For example - you might initially only have a need to crimp medium-size pins, but then at a later date you're faced with crimping larger pins - in this scenario, you'd just need to purchase the larger die plate set - the PAD-13S (or if you need to crimp smaller pins, purchase the smaller die plate set - the PAD-11S).
If you opt to purchase the other two die plate sets available (PAD-11S & PAD-13S), you'll then have the capability to crimp a very broad range of pin types & sizes - but without having to own & carry numerous crimping tools (which would be costly and add clutter and extra weight to your tool case).
